Q1 How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?
Intro - It represents social groups in different ways, it shows us that women are more vulnerable in society and are seen as victims whilst men are seen as being more powerful and more dominant in society, for example, the taxi driver is a male and is portrayed being bad whilst the woman who gets into the taxi is shown to us being the victim and weak.
Challenge conventions -
I have made a thriller film opening sequence in a group and our sequence challenges the conventions. Thrillers create a sense of suspense and uncertainty of a situation in a specific place. Usually the shots are in long duration and has continuity editing in order to add to the suspense.
Our thriller sequence was called 'Missing' and it had a long duration shot of the girls walking.
Mise en scene - Our sequence was filmed next to a large building and had a setting of a parking area and it
When our sequence starts we have a mid shot of the girls walking for about 20 seconds and we have digetic sounds of them talking and the sound of the grain on which they are walking on.
