Editing of Our Film Opening:

Image may contain: screenWe used Premiere Pro to edit our film on Apple computer, we used a long cut when the 2 girls leave the building for about 25 seconds then we have a side shot and an over-the-shoulder shot when they hugged and when they waved goodbye to each other while one of the girls being in the car. A Close-Up over the shoulder from the girls’ point of view of the driver. The shots all flow very smoothly with each other from the time she speaks to the driver, to the time of her getting into the car making the editing continuous. We did get all the shots we needed so it is good that we do not have to
reshoot any of the shots. The editing also makes

the girl seem vulnerable while the driver is superior.

We added different titles to our sequence to reveal the characters names as they appear on screen, this is more efficient as the audience will know straight away who is acting.

We are going to add titles of who the actors are in the sequence, Phoebe and Emily. At the beginning of the sequence we are going to add the title of the sequence which is

We used Art of Title to research different title sequences how they differentiate and how they might seem similar.

We are using natural sound from the environment such as the wind and the car driving up to the door and also the sound of the actors’ dialogue. All of our sound came from our filming location such as the door opening and closing and when the characters are walking on the gravel we have the sound of the gravel being stepped on. All of these sounds are diegetic sound such as when the car pulls up to the house.
Yes we created all the sound by our self and we might add a sound effect of the cars doors closing and maybe some sound of the movement of the car.

Well we will use the natural sounds in the sequence such as the wind blowing and the girls walking on gravel.

Also when the car pulls up we hear the sound of the engine and the sound of the doors opening and closing when the second girl gets into the car.

1      Mastering continuity

The continuity of the sequence flows through the sequence from the start to finish, we have a long duration shot of the girls moving from the house towards the car and then we have different types of shots, such as over the shoulder shot as the girls hug, when she gets into the car we also have an over the shoulder but from the other girl on the outside. The girls’ names appeared on screen when they separated and as Emily gets into the car we see hers name and when Phoebe waves at the girl in the car as seen through a reflexion.  As the other car drives another car drives into the shot and the dodge drivers’ name appears on screen. There is an over the shoulder shot of the girl asking the driver if he came to pick up Emily from the girls perspective and then it switches to an over the shoulder shot form the drivers perspective, there are 4 switches in total during this scene between the girl and the driver. There is a shot from inside the car of the girl opening the car door with another title of who made the cast then a switch between the driver and the girl and another two title appears of who the footage was edited by and produced by. The shot changes to a close up of the driver talking to the girl through the rear-view mirror where he makes eye contact with her and it goes back to her to see her facial expression of distress.
